Retake and Extend as an Edit Bay
- →Decide between rerolling a clip and retaking a range, using both craft and cost as inputs
- →Scope a retake to a time range and to the right stream (video, audio, or both)
- →Plan a shot past the 10s Pro cap with extend, working inside the 505 billed-frame limit
- →Choose Fast or Pro at the start of a shot based on whether you will need to edit it later
You already know the discipline this lesson is about. When a take is 95% right, you do not call the crew back and shoot the scene again — you pick up the line, or you fix it in post. The reason people abandon that discipline with generative video is that the reroll button is close at hand and feels free. It is neither.
Take a 10-second hero shot: ltx-2-3-pro, 1920x1080, 24 fps, audio on. That is 10 seconds at $0.08/sec — $0.80. It comes back with a beautiful move, believable ambience, and half a second at 6.5s where the subject's hand turns to soup.
